- [BYC and Regional Roundup 2025](https://suttoncoldfieldfencingclub.co.uk/byc-and-regional-roundup-2025/): Our fencers once again participated in the Senior and British Youth Championship qualifiers, with the standard being particularly high. In February Daniel Bullock won Silver in the U16 Men’s Epee. In March Daniel also competed in the Senior Regional Epee, alongside his father Ian (the longest running SCFC member), Charles Benke, the redoubtable Tomas Kazik, and newcomer Andrew Cliff. The first Open in September can always be shaky, especially if you haven’t fenced for a while and you haven’t been training over the Summer. - [West Midland Senior Championships](https://suttoncoldfieldfencingclub.co.uk/west-midland-senior-championships/): Tomas Kazik acquired yet another Gold Gong for himself and Sutton in the Men’s Epee. The man will need a bigger medal cabinet soon. Sadly, Stuart Willis didn’t do so well in the Men’s Foil but this was his first competition and at least he now has a good idea of what it is like to compete and as the only Foilist from Sutton this year, deserves a medal just for turning up!

- [Birmingham International 2015](https://suttoncoldfieldfencingclub.co.uk/birmingham-international-2015/): Tomas Kazik did the honours by coming second in the Men’s Epee event in this prestigious competition. He won all his matches except the very last one so a truly excellent result. Ian also entered the Epee and Charles and Danielle entered the foil event. For Danielle, this was the first time she had entered this competition (hopefully not the last!)

- [Warwickshire County Senior Championships 14 July 2012](https://suttoncoldfieldfencingclub.co.uk/warwickshire-county-senior-championships-14-july-2012/): Charles was our sole representative at the championships, but he made up for a poor showing from Sutton by gamely entering both the foil and Sabre event and came a respectable 6th place in both.
- [Excalibur April 2012](https://suttoncoldfieldfencingclub.co.uk/excalibur-april-2012/): Once again, Julie Foster took part in the Inter-county Excalibur competition as part of the women’s foil team. Gavin Rudge was down as reserve but found out at the event that he was now an essential part of the men’s foil team. This rather ruined his plans for the day which consisted of sitting in a pub somewhere with a beer and newspaper. However, as always, a good time was had by all and this year, Warwickshire came 5th overall.

Sutton entered just one team consisting of Ian Bullock (Epee), Dave Cox (Sabre) and Julie Foster (Foil). There were were lots of great fights and for a while it looked like we might retain our winning number one spot from last year but we were finally narrowly beaten by the Squirrels from Stourbridge. Gongs: Team silver.

Congratulations to Jack and Imogen who represented Sutton Coldfield Cadets and the West Midlands in the England Youth Fencing Championships in Hatfield. They fought well in a long and arduous competition and showing a lot of character against some of the best young fencers in the UK!
